Located in historic Downieville on the upper reaches of the Yuba River the Downieville Museum is about one mile north of the town of Sierra City.
The museum is open from Wednesday to Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The museum is open from Memorial Day weekend through the first weekend in October for free. The building this museum is housed in dates to 1852. It was originally a Chinese store/gambling house. Stop by and enjoy the relics and the stamp mill model crafted by the local high school students.
