Weed is located north of Redding between Yreka and Dunsmuir along Interstate 5 near Lake Shastina and Grass Lake. The City of Weed is nestled on the western slopes of Mount Shasta in Northern California at an elevation of 3,467 feet.
Weed is surrounded by national forests, high desert plains and volcanic formations of geological interest. As the central city in Siskiyou County it is just fifty miles from the Oregon border.
From Weed there is easy access to a range of adventures in Siskiyou County. The Living Memorial Sculpture Garden is located a short drive up Highway 97. At nearby Lake Shastina there is water skiing, wind surfing, boating, and other water sports. An 18-hole Robert Trent Jones professional golf course and a 9-hole executive course is also at Lake Shastina.
